LET’S GET YOU BACK TO FOCUS

FocusFlow not showing?

First, open a new tab with Ctrl+T on Windows or Command+T on Mac. The page shown when a browser starts is not always its new-tab page.

It works in a new tab, but not when I reopen the browser

Your installation may be working normally. FocusFlow replaces new tabs; it does not automatically replace every startup page, home page or restored tab.

See the official Chrome startup guide and Firefox home-page guide. Choose settings yourself; FocusFlow does not silently change them.

Even a fresh new tab shows the normal browser page

  1. Open your extension manager: enter chrome://extensions in Chrome or about:addons in Firefox.
  2. Check that FocusFlow is present and enabled. Read any browser warning or permission request.
  3. Make sure you are in the same browser profile where you installed it. Private/incognito windows can behave differently.
  4. Check for another extension that changes the new-tab page. If you choose to, disable that conflicting extension and try a fresh tab.
  5. Click FocusFlow in the browser’s Extensions menu. If its dashboard opens from there, the extension is installed but its new-tab assignment needs investigation.

It disappears after a Firefox restart

A temporary Firefox add-on only lasts until restart. Install the published version from the official Firefox listing for normal use. If you already installed from the store, check the extension manager rather than assuming this is the cause.

Don’t delete your work to troubleshoot

Export important notes and data before uninstalling or clearing extension storage. Those actions may erase locally saved information. A browser restart should not require a reinstall.

What to include in a bug report

Note your browser and FocusFlow versions, whether the problem affects a fresh tab or only startup, and whether clicking the extension icon works. A screenshot of the normal/blank tab and any extension error is helpful. Avoid including private tasks, notes or browsing history.

While investigating, you can still use the web timer and study planner.
